you can get an protools free off the digidesign site, it's version 3.4 if my memory serves me. metasynth is very worth a look as it's a great app that is mac only, though not free.

Damn, I bought mine for 1200 in 2000. Before the titaniums came out. They are great. The batteries are dead in mine now the CD player is broken. But I love it. Lots of good affordable macs available now.

I am using osx on a pb 400. The gui is a bit choppy, but the apps don't run any slower. You don't really loose cpu. Especially with things like supercollider.

i use mine with both X & 9 just make a partition of the harddrive when you install the system and then you coud just use the "startup disk" to stat it up from whatever system you wanna run. allthough i reckon that 9.2 is the best for doing music on the older macs since X is a bit slow for that.
i run logic 4.8 on an exact same machine as you do and i reckon it's going quite allright, allthough i would love one of thoose new titanium 1+ ghz laptops. maybe when i get rich and famous... |

Loads of people put externals up, I've not seen many full apps that are as good as twerks stuff. Robert Henke had a sequencer on his monolake page. I'm not sure if its still there though.
I wish I could get a shot of the Ae/Devine patches ![]() |

If anyone has any explainable ideas for sequencer apps they'd like to see I'd be up for having a go at building it in max.

you should actually be able to get the 5.3.2 pro tools demo. that was the last one they made for os9.x. I am running 6.4 on my mac on os x. I think they still have the older demos up but maybe not anymore. |
