Opinions on CASIO FZ-1. Maybe I get it...
Hi there! I´m about to get a second hand Casio FZ-1 sampling/synthesizer keyboard (1987). Please, tell me your opinion, ´cause I´m a bit iffy. It´s on mint condition (even the disk unit) and the price is 300 euro (is that cheap?). Please answer as soon as you can.

i had one and sold it about 4-5 years ago for 250 which was really cheap at that time.
i would say 300 euros aren´t cheap. the fz-1 has a very cool dirty sound. really dirty. as far as i remember it has 8 outputs but if you route an instrument/sample to one output(using multiple outs with different samples) you can only have on voice per output or i was too dumb at that time. so anyone correct me if i´m wrong. as an additional instrument it´s ok but if you really need a sampler than you better look for something else/better. |

a musical colleague of mine was a real fan of his fz-1 - because he was (and still is) a fan of heavy aliasing.
so i guess it's a good machine for that purpose, if you're looking for that. i don't know anything about prices though. |
