so as a last resort to continue drinking last night i got dragged to the casino. i just dont get gambling, dont get me wrong it was a good laugh but my mate, the little bastard (informed me he had no cash just after he signed me in) was betting with my money had about 40 quid from the tenner i lent him and then horsed it all on one hand. What is the deal with this? is there something im missing?

i hate gambling, the last time i went to a casino was in 94
taj mahal in atlantic city
my friends played blackjack and slots for hours
i found the room where bets were being placed on world cup games
found a comfortable seat, watched a few games.

I lost $300 on one drunken day in atlantic city, NJ playing blackjack. I was up about $80 when I went to the bathroom. when I got back I lost it in a steady stream of bad hands. next thing I knew I was deep in the red.

I saw an interview with some floor manager in Las Vegas - he said that they try to view it like a themepark - you pony up some money and then they basically keep you entertained for a few hours, ply you with free drinks.

Only totally hardcore gamblers and game players go there to get ahead and play for serious money...

I went to Vegas with my friends, and nobody wanted to gamble apart from me. I was all up for dressing up to the nines and playing some hands of blackjack (I do enjoy a game or several), but didn't really want to go on my own, since it was the experience rather than the money that I wanted. So I didn't gamble a single penny at all.
