IBAN + BIC works EU-wide, even your account will support it - a lot of uk people don't seem to know this either, but they also possess a IBAN+BIC code. there are even EU laws & regulations on how quickly the money should arrive on the other account and how much the transfer should cost.

now thats interesting i have to check em. last time i had a transfer to the uk it went ridicously expensive. so the banks don't have the right to make you pay really much for it? that pisses me off. again

No its a IMM fee used by british banks. Iban is just a code used by banks the same as a swift code- must be used if transfering through europe.
