who sees the front page of the site? - erutufon|nofuture

another question.

how many of you see the title page to the board every time you visit the site?

one of the reasons why cristian did a new front page to the site is that it highlights our releases and activities, plus it shows highlights from all the boards, so it shows whats going on for those of you who never look in the other forums.

either people need to re-do their favourites links to the board or cristian needs to recode it ...

i see it.

exemple:
when i get to this part of the "erutufon central", into a thread and
when i´m down reading it want to jump the "erutufon public library" by pushing the "erutufon I nofuture" button, then i´ll see the front pages with all the news... so i got to click on the "on the boards" button and so on to get to the "public library"

so i see it quite often.

I have to admit that I've been avoiding that page, I don't get much out of it and prefer browsing the forum through the old interface.

My favourites link brings me straight to this forum. The few glimpses I've had of the front page have been confusing, it's rather crowded and these days I have little time or patience for browsing randomly especially if I'm turned off by the formatting. I already spend too much time reading fora and searching for vinyl on a zillion other sites.

same for me i read it a couple of times a week..

but i would say, after bein away from NF for a while and then coming back with its new look i did find it hard initally to navagate around your site. i think maybe you should make your new articles bigger or brighter so they stand out more !!>)

I don't think you should take too much from the opinion of regular forum trolls...

The reason being is that they spend an inordinate amount of time in the forums and consequently its natural for them to want to have the site centred around that.

However, what about the casual visitor, S_C/Cristian/Begg/whatever fan who are not into forums and so on, but still want to get news and views about their favourite bands and artists. For them the portal page is key and I think it should remain as is. I don't have the stats, but its my guess that there is quite a lot of 'casual' traffic to the site, along with the tardy old regulars hanging around giving the place a bad smell... (Note. I'm being facetious again)...

Forums whores can easily just set their homepage to Erutufon Central - then they can whinge when they miss out on key news and early shout-outs for gigs and new records and so on.

That's my funny eight-sided coin's worth...

i visit the front page http://www.no-future.com/index.php to see what the most recent central-forum posts are, and to read new reviews if there are any.
I like to read the review forum, and the extra infos on various projects which Cristian is involved in (eg. the bulb project).

its also incredibly easy to never see it hence this thread. all you have to do is click on forums and it takes you to the forums list

you only go to it if you click on the erutufon logo

and actually the guests on the board are probably more interested in everything else that is going on than many of the members.

Bookmarked is the forum index, but I check the front page about once every day or so, in case I've missed something.

I never look at the front page and jump straight to the forums page, even though I only ever post in the general discussion threads.
