afterpartys are the best bit of the night. you dont really get a chance to talk to your mates in a club, and seein as they finish at 3 in glasgow it always ends up that way. however the after, after party is my favorite when you leave the party due to cabin fever setting in and go somewhere nice and warm to listen to the pixies and watch films. thats the buisness.

@yer maw maybe that depends on the time, the club closes, or the time you go home... if you go home at 3 or 4, an after party might be good, but if you go home at 9 or 10 in the morning, for me an after party is not good at all

The one at Steph after we played in the Quadrat was one of the funniest. It depends on the people taking part of it of course! The Giessen crew is amazing...had much fun drugs are bad |

most clubs and some pubs in edinburgh close at 3am, 5am during festive periods and sometimes randomly at 4am which i like......
even if theres not an afterparty on theres plenty pubs that open at 4/5/6am here anyway.. |

those speed afterhours are some years behind me. but i preffered to play records instead of talking hours for hours. the funny thing is how the music effects the way people talk. so that was my part of the speed discussions. nowadays i just need booze to stay awake till sunday night. speed wouldn´t let me sleep till monday. can´t stand that.

I really put clubs and the after parties into two very different catagories. With clubs I like to show up, have a drink and take some sweeties then dance about like a loon for a few hours, I don't really like talking to people in clubs on the dancefloor for ages though I'm okay with a little convo as you bump into people.
Afterparties where it's at for getting totaly manky and reeking which is my speciality these days. It's where the social aspect of clubbing really comes into it, when you can hear what other people are saying and get involved in conversations with people you don't know. It's also an excellent oppertunity to play Ultra Sonic at 12 in the afternoon. Some of the best after hours stories I've heard have been caused by my neighbours. At one after party they took a guys shoes off while he slepy, hilled a pot with water and boiled the guys shoes. I've also gone up to the roof (of a four story building) with them whilst cunted where one of them ripped off the aerial and we all took turns using it as a lightsaber against the chimney pot before they climbed down some scaffolding to the ground then went back to the front door. |

aftershow parties can vary. the pot smoking ones are generally dull, apart from a few funny moments when someone says/does something stupid.
the best ones are when the party simply moves from the club to somewhere else, be it someone's house, another club, or the woods. ........................... "If you can't tell what genre the track you're making is you should have your instruments taken away and made to stand in the corner." |

i think back to the post Ugly Funk parties, the ones at my house and then at Grants - christ, it was like the actual clubnight was just some convenient way of getting everyone together in one place, before embarking on a two or three day long marathon of booze and debauchery, with a few sorties out to various pubs and other nights along the way...
I still have the terse note, that was left by my old housemates a few days before an UF, it read: "There are to be no more 'TECHNO EVENTS' in this house, in case this still isn't clear" |

Private "afterhouring" is my favorite...When you go to your buddies home with several mates, buy the drinks and roll papers at the petrolstation (and get these funny looks from people buying the sunday mornin paper) Then hit the turntables at the house (an absolut prerequisite!) and everyone takes their turn..The girls chatting mostly `bout their evening consumption..The guys drinkin Jäger&smokin...Another on the playstation and just talking bull the whole restday till 10 pm or so...
