syncing reason and logic together - help needed!

ok i'm stumped i've been messing around trying to get reason 2.5 and logic 5.5 hooked up together

now i can get it working in rewire mode to a point
logic only supports rewire v1 so there's no midi control
to counter this i've got midi yoke running in the background and it works no probs

only there's limitations namely reason only makes a noise when logic is in play mode and i'm suffering from massive latency issues making my keyboard practically redundent

so here's my solution and my problem 'virtual audio cable'
by rights i should be able to output reason through this and into an audio channel in logic allowing me to open reason before logic and stopping it from opening in rewire mode

this should mean i can play with reason directly and therefore reduce my latency problems

however i cannot for the life of me work out how to route virtual audio cable into an audio channel within logic itself
i've tried every combination i can think of but seeing as i'm pretty new to logic i'm probably missing something

anybody?

one other question i have regarding logic is how if at all possible do i set up multiple midi busses?
i'd like to be able to run external stuff as well but it only seems to want to let me run one of either the midi yoke junctions or roland mp-401 etc at a time
if i change it on one channel it changes it on the rest and i was wondering if there was a way around this problem?

cheers
dave

there is usually no problem assigning different midi devices. imo this only happens if you use the same miditrack.

had a quick look at the preferences but found nothing. this just doesn´t seem to be a "normal" function.

have you tried to use/install a different logic version?

btw if your virtual audio cable works like a virtual soundcard with in and outs you should get an input via the left parameter menu (selecting the audio track in arrange or mixer menu)
you might have to change dev (device) and cha (input or output etc).

yeah i tried 5.2 last night to no avail and completely cleaned my system of any reference to logic before install so i don't know at all

i seem to be having problems with the virtual audio cable when it comes to the drivers used

if i select easi mme it will allow me bring up the control panel and select virtual audio cable as a possible input/output

and this then allows me to select additional inputs from the parameter menu

however i get no sound at all in logic (from vst's etc)unless the direct sound driver is selected
this consquently turns off the virtual audio cable rendering it useless

i've got an even bigger problem now in that logic wont allow me to open anything i've saved when i've used a vst instrument - lovely!
fine if i use it's own synths etc come to use a third parties and it says no fuckin way!

LOGIC PLATINUM 5 caused an exception 10H in module BATTERY.DLL at 018f:0df0bd59.

is what it keeps bringing up i've unistalled and reinstalled everything a million times
it did this before a while back before i started with the reason logic thing and i thought i'd got a conflit somewhere so i uninstalled every bit of music software i'd got then reinstalled the bare bones of what i want
it worked for a while but it's started again and now it wont play the game at all

damn this all sounds fucked up.
might be that your os is corrupted or too corrupted meanwhile...
i guess the best thing for you is too make a clean install of your operating system and than make an image/backup of it. better than just de/reinstalling all the software cause sometimes not everything gets properly deinstalled.
btw don´t you have an asio driver for your soundcard?

hm i use win98 se as operating system for music. xp will come in the future cause i waited for the bugz and bugfixes.
i haven´t deinstalled my old logic versions. always kept em if an update fails which works good. only got to copy the vst folder.

yeah i'm just hanging on til xmas really when i can get my hands on a new hard drive
i've had to format and reinstall too many times on this thing and on the last defrag i noticed loadsa corrupted areas so it's gotta go

i was just hoping i could figure out stuff before hand so when it comes to the new one i can set it up without faffing about too much

unfortunately i'm stuck using the on board sound at the moment!
funds don't allow a pci based one at the mo, but maybe that's where my problem lies!
