infiltrate 202: "yeah, check this next track out, you gonna' lost in space, watch you bassbins i'm tellin' ya..."

does anyone remember these ultimate spaced funked out guys? yeah, i know, it's pretty long time ago (1991 i guess, damn, am i that old???).

does anyone know if they are still around and do tunes? after the killer lp "full on mask hysteria" i didn't see anything released...

what i heard is that one of them got his own software company, the other doing sound ing. correct?

ps: anyone selling the "vertigo e.p"

Altern-8 are doing a live pa here, in Leicester soon. I wonder if it will actually be live and not just a DAT and an mc?

Is infiltrate 202 the one with armageddon on the b-side?? if so, I wouldn't mind a copy of that.

And, on a sort of old lost record reminiscence tip, has anyone got a copy of Rotterdam termination source - poing?

Top one nice one get sorted!

They were also Nexus 21, which I believe was a more "serious" Detroit-oriented pseudonym.

Yep, they ended up at one of our nights in Leicester after they finished a gig. They weren't hard to spot really, hanging around the bar. Don't think they liked techno much.

ah those glory days...

altern8 stood for election in 1992. the 'hardcore you know the score' party. they had a tank (of course) with hardcore written on the side. i seem to remember their manifesto was about having pa systems on every street so we could have street parties, and teachers had to use megaphones in class at all times.

i have to say i think utah saints were pish, and probably still are. electronic music and guitars don't mix, generally.

i heard that altern8 are indeed playing live , full on mask hysteria, NBC suits and vicks

also playing live in the test arch is justin berkovi

Oh yeh, I wouldn't miss it for the world, because I didnt go to a "modern" club until 1996...... My girlfriend has expressed some fear of seeing Altern8 again, as she feels that they might induce a flashback in her head so powerful and resonant of her mad (younger) youth that she'll go completely mental! (Im looking forward to seeing this needless to say)

altern8 excepted, cos i love em (move my body, infiltr8 202, aaahh), and i love what they stood for (hardcore madness), isn't this old skool revival shit gettin a bit tedious? loads of folk are jumpin on the bandwagon now, in glasgow anyway. everyone seems to be at it.

Yup, I completely bloody sick of it: There have been any number of threads on this and other boards over the last three or four months on the subject, I don't want to run the risk of risk of accidently helping starting another right enough!!

everything is a revival now, to some extent anyway. always at least a nod to something else, which is necessarily in the past. we must have gone on about all this before... the reason i like this whole indietinylabelsdoingwhateverth efuckweirdshittheywant scene is cause some of its actually refreshing and new...now that there's digital radio can we have a john peel channel? did i just contradict myself?

All this revival shit is getting tiresome. All the old rave memories I have (and yeah, I wore white gloves and a whistle), should remain locked away in my head, so I can remember them as some of the happiest times of my life. The last thing I wanna do is spend a night in a club in 2002, listening to all my favourite records from 1988-1992 being played to an audience who haven't got a clue what it was all about then. In fact most of them haven't got a clue what it's all about now ..

I would prefer a good revival, than a bad newcomer.

Perhaps the old bands invent some new kinds of sound. And so they’re new in a certain way.

It is not said that a band that makes a revival plays the same music than before. But the percentage is higher, anyway.

Techno music is as it's name suggests, Technology. It's supposed to be about using technology to create new sounds. Yet what's with this big 80's electro revival that's happening?. Why use new technology to create old sounds??

Sounds like a bunch of old twigs to me ....

evening all

as the enforcement officer involved with this dubious test venture, heres the cue...

this is a meeting of two clubs, they are retro, test is test. Its two clubs in one huge venue split into four bits, two dancehalls, two chillouts, they have half, test the other half.

the lineups are entirely independent of each other, they had no say on test, and vice versa. But the opportunity to get into this venue and do this sorta schizo old skool/nu skool enviroment was too much to resist, as above all this will be a fun night, away from the residency giving us/you something different, unexpected, and this is one of two one off gigs to brighten up glasgow as it floods under the relentless rain, and the club spaces are divided by mighty brick walls, so u can remain 'safe' in the test arch if necessary.
