So now it's possible to legally buy hundreds of varieties of hallucinogenic mushrooms in the UK - a friend of mine bought loads of Mexican ones in Camden the other day and said they were the business. Anyone got any thoughts on whether this is going to have an effect on music, people etc?

AhHa...so thats why ive not heard from any of my friends in london for yonks.... i want to find out how you can grow your own under your bed sort of thing..... any ideas? |

do you have to buy them in a kind of pillow? i think it´s legal here to buy them in scent-pillows (don´t know if that´s the word), but if you open it it is illegal? same in the uk?
no, it won´t have any effect on people,music etc. why? i don´t think that legalising drugs will lead to an increase of drug-users. maybe just a samll amount but that wouldn´t be of importance, so you wouldn´t have a any major changes in society. |

The law, as it's always been here, is that it's legal to own or sell mushrooms as long as they're fresh - not dried, frozen or in any other way prepared. This has never been taken advantage of until now. TroyMoy - I don't know about Spain, but certainly in the UK, Holland and other parts of Europe, you can buy growing kits, which are just bags of soil/compost which already contain the spores of whatever type of mushroom. Aparrently they work quite well.
I don't think it will lead to an increase in the number of drug users, but in my experience, it seems to be leading to a change in the regular habits of people who already take drugs. ...........................

yeah man ive seen the mushroom truffles.. yet to try em but i have it on good grounds that they are proper bo!
£15 for 3 little ones.. not bad does anyone know good picking feilds in sussex while were on the subject ? |

we recently purchased some of those truffles and they knocked our bollacks off. i too have noticed a lot more acid and mushies going around in clubs over the last 6 months, and there seems to be a mushy renaissance going on. the new age of psychedelia, if you will. but hell, it led me to thinking - maybe it will bring about a change in music, and shake up the current scene. that could be interesting. to that end, we have decided to invite a mushy dealer down to our next night rather than a pill-man |

guy i know grows them using equipment he bought in B & Q. it's pretty easy i think - he has gigantic psylocibe cubensis growing all over his house, on the toilet cystern, on top of the tv etc.. i've looked it up on the net before and there were all sorts of complicated methods, but i don't think it's necessary. i think the tricky bit is getting the spores to sprout, and the rest can just be done in those normal planting tray things, in compost. you can buy syringes full of spores from all sorts of places. he got his latest batch from ecuador. look up a site called erowhid i think? there are messageboards kicking around for enthusiasts too. get googling. |

well, buy one of the growing kits. they're child's play to grow. 3 weeks it takes and you'll have nuff shrooms. we were gonna have a psychedelic barbecue yesterday but i pussied out at the last moment. i, too, fear the fear.

i'm too weak to ride the fear, it consumes me. a couple of super strong skunk bongs a few months ago brought back all sorts of nastiness that i'd spent years clearing out of my head. a real shame, as acid is the #1 substance going, in my experience. never really got round to doing a decent dose of mushrooms, but i've never been a fan of fungus, hallucinogenic or otherwise.

i must admit that i love this drug. been doing loads this summer - the only substance i have been partaking in. and they are just great. doing just a few, makes you feel like you are on e. doing more, gives you the visuals of acid, without the headtrip and the long time commitment. and the next day i wake up with loads of energy and a smile on my face. sex is quite nice on them as well
