like the magnesium ribbon in the flame number, whoo it burns brightly. that was pretty much the first chemistry experiment you do

i used to cry in chemistry because it made my mind boggle too much. my teacher told my mum i was going to be an important scientist. how wrong she was...what i hated was they wouldnt answer all your deep questions...there was so much you had to accept in science lessons as a given and i couldnt ever do that. physics was terrifying. biology i really enjoyed but im very squeamish about descriptions of the body so i had to leave a lot before fainting. plus i refused to do any animal cutting up experiments. i would hate to go back to science classes

i was lucky, i had good teachers, my chemistry teacher loved me cos i always asked him really difficult questions and he had to go away and look up the answers

my chemistry teacher hated me and when our class had to do some test for Amonia with test tubes and weird bottles from the top shelf he picked me out to test it...

"how do i test..." i asked...

"sniff it".....he replied..

thus i sniffed a fairly big....SNIFF...

i then had to be helped out of the class room by my fellow class memebers..slowly turning green.....while he fucking laughed about it!!!

my mum still wants to whip his ass....

i hate chemistry.

Bitch one, you sliced up a dead person for a year? did you have breaks, or was it continous slicing?

no we did get time away. the freakiest thing was they had big plastic bins full of disembodied limbs. you'd take the lid off and there'd be all these white hands floating there, waving their fingers at you.

strangely, we never named her. tho she was quite a fatty so perhaps 'betty' or some other round-sounding name. it meant we had to spend a lot of time removing fat deposits. not a pleasant task.

I liked the experiments with Lithium & Potassium on water. The highlight was stealing some and keeping it in a paper towel and then launching it into a urinal when peeps in your class were mid-stream. I think that actually led to a suspension or two....

It fizzes up and this really bright light comes out and I can't remember if it pops at the end or not. I suspect some had a chemical burn and that is why the guy got suspended (the only one to own up - idiot). I remember someone got caught trying to set fire to Magnesium with a match not realising the flame wouldn't be hot enough...too funny and too stupid.
