erutufon traffic
Yo, I've had to install a bandwidth limiter for the time being until I reach Cris and we can work out a better solution - basically it's clear from logfiles at this point that the server is being abused by what seems like everybody and their mom - we've surpassed 500 GB of outgoing traffic alone this month so far!

scary, could end up v expensive!!
register to get in seems to be the sensible option, and restrict number of members who can log in at one time. a certain site of which i am a memeber allows 13 logins and has been going for over a year so i guess that's the amount that works for them - although they only allow up to 20Meg files. |

yeh I was thinking about restricting access to members of the board only... should reduce traffic drastically I think...

I'm cleaning up as we speak - I think one rule that will need to be constituted is no live sets, unless they are by members of the board...
also I'd appreciate it if people were to notify me when they find mysterious folders filled to the rim with marusha live sets... I don't have time to sift through all this stuff and figure out what belongs and what doesn't... ........................... Dawn appeared, fresh and rosy fingered |

i think live sets by board users put up should be deleted after a month and files be limited to 128kbps

i didnt publish the finl file with your loop cause my boss claimed it was too techno...now it has a different loop.. it was www.dancerepublic.com ( the end loop )

i think a good solution might be account by request... every real board user who wants to use the ftp should request it. all the other "users" who never posted and just want to download can go and search their own ftp

Yeah, just wanted to say muchos appreciation for this facility - personally most mix sets and live recordings can be got on p2p.
And is a better place for them as it doesn't burn someone's server bandwidth... |

what about logging in on the ftp with your boardname and pwd?
so if somebody puts shit up you can track down the user and block him.... and only users with lets say for example atleast 40 posts are allowed to upload and download... |
