this event was boring. The best part was the nefarious.net tent which showcased the best talent detroit has to offer. I hope next year they have someone who is up on current music to select the line up. And I would like to see Si begg and cristian there damn it!!!!!

we will have some video up @ www.feedthemachine.org soon

i think alan oldham asked cris to play last year and he couldnt. so i dont know if that will mean he wont be asked again...there was some hoo-ha about it the year before that as well...cris was asked to play somewhere at it, couldnt and we had these agents who kicked up some big fuss...it was all a bit unpleasant.

im sure he'd like to one time tho.

It was run by Derrick May this year, and by all accounts, his shit was very together.

yeah, this year had a stunning line up, although not as varied and interesting as sonar. previous years have had diabolical inclusions (jim masters??????????) so it's nice that a real artist was able to preside over this years event. All reports from attendees i know are positive.

emma, was cristian asked to play demf or a related after party style event? the two are very separate, the after parties are not so concentrated on the 313 element, i know several people who played at after parties.

this year it was important that the focus was as local as possible after the festival was hijacked in previous years, and May did that very well while still including international artists of merit.

T-1000 is a bit of a div, it seems. i've read quotes from him that are really sad and short sighted.

i diagree. this year focused on stagnant artists and making sure the masses dont get introduced to the best music being made in the detroit area. ie. the dnb scene here is by far the most "advanced"(for lack of a better word) thing happenig and once again it was overlooked. I herd alot better music being played at the tents than on any stage. but whatever it was free, enough of my bitching.

It's interesting to hear the opinions of someone who actually resides in the city.

yes, i suppose it's the residents views that count, although that's the first point of view i've seen that has been negative.
