whats in a name?

so I was wondering how everyone here came up with their board name? why did you choose it? does it have any signficance to you as a person? etc, etc.

I can never come up with cutsy names so I was going to use my first name when I came here. but Ian was already taken so I just used my last name and that seemed to work out. how about you?

I chose mine many moons ago as I like the sound of it phoeneticaly. I've just stuck with it since as it's nice to have a sense of identity.

my real last name is walker, but I always wanted a rich aristocratic heritage so I decided to add the belm. I actually prefer my other double barrelled name of bobby body-double.

mine is slang - but has different interpretations:
In Future Slang,

Pencil-Neck: Weakling, puny. Sometime used by Fatties to describe citizens of a more normal weight

In normal Slang,

Pencil-Neck:
(noun) a geeky person with a thin neck.

Mine is a loooong explanation... hmm,.. where should I start..?? hmm
See I took my first name and then, to add some action here, I added the first letter, and ONLY the first letter, from my last name. Then I had total new looking board name.... wwwwowowow!!! huh?
Still going around telling friends; "hey whatcha think of this name?" Isn´t it just amazing?" And friends say;"WOoowww, respect!!! man, how did you make that? It´s superb!"

One friend couldn´t see the point in it - said it looked somekind like my own name??

I knocked him twice and told him to have a look again. Then he said..

ok

i know of another mux. he is canadian and lives in costa rica or somewhere like that.

when i was 14 or 15 i was on the tube on the way home from seeing Loop and Godflesh at a gig. i was with some people a year or so older than me who had started experimenting with various drugs. they were talking about them and they mentioned this stuff called animal night train, or at least that is how my innocent ears heard it. a year or so later i myself had taken up the use of various substances on a recreational level. when i was 16 i started attending dance music gatherings and eventually worked out that this animal night train was actually amyl nitrate, which in case of any doubt i think is a vile substance. i have smelt it's unpleasant odour twice recently, while out at nights in birmingham and london. horrible stinky stuff that just gives you a headache.

Well, I don't own an atari and never owned one... ... But as I first was in the gabber scene, there was a lot of artists of used one to produce tracks... And well, I like what people does with these beasts... It's sounds as cheap as my own sounds...

This is a long one...

When I first met the guys that I do FIlth with, a bunch of them were proper professional smokers - at the time, I'd enjoy a few spliffs around at a mates and stagger off home... So it was a bit of an in at the deep end initiation into the grand art of smoking bongs...

One friend had this awesome bong and we'd smoke from that, strict rule, one bowl per person - you have to smoke the whole bowl. I was so green, my friend even had to show me how to use the bong... Needless to say I went through a period of about 2 months of having the most monumental whiteys. We'd typically go down the pub, or do a flyering and postering mission then back home for Pizza, beers and the bong. This would usually end with me sleeping on their couch, with the world spinning around me, while they played the playstation.

One one particular occasion, I remember having the distinct feeling of defying gravity and rolling up the back of the couch very slowly and inexorably but out of my control I got to the top and fell down the back of the couch. The shock of the fall bought me round, and I could hear everyone in the room laughing and asking me wtf I was doing... It was at this point that with one arm trapped under my body I had to ask for help to get out.

As it happens I wasn't lying on the couch at all, I was say in the chair opposite and had got up to go to the toilet - as I leaned to get round the door - I had slipped and fell straight down the back of the couch...

The following week I went round, just in time for another round of bongs, my mate offered me one and my reply was...

"Go on then, but you better make it a small one as I don't want to do a 'Grobelaar' down the back of your couch"

Its quite good cos it has threefold meaning - Grobelaar as in the famous liverpool goalkeeper Bruce Grobelaar - and goalies do a lot of diving during the course of their job. Of course later on Bruce was involved in a betting scandal and was 'diving' for money - and of course Grobelaar is just a funny word. So for a bit anyone doing anything stupid while under the influence was said to be "doing a grobelaar", then I claimed it as my name...

It should be noted that I have since become a complete bong whore, you just seem to get to a point where it doesn't wipe you out anymore (dangerous...)
