the Segway could change everything...

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg...636756-0646216

I'm remember watching a great documentary about this device and its inventor... If it becomes cheaper to build and therefore sell , it could really be the next evolutionary step in mankind's search for natural , technology assisted mobility enhancement...It aint no toy... Has anyone here seen one, had a go on one??

I live on third floor.... HEY they didn´t show how it would pass stairs!!!??? hrmrmhrmmh....

A little sad how people think we should "walk" around in the future. Yeah it´s pretty hard to move around on your feeds - I see the problem.... doohh....

I saw a story on the segway company on one of our MANY american news magazine television shows. and they were talking to the creator of the segway. the company is just barely scraping by. not enough people placing orders for them because one of the reasons is that they are technically illegal to operate on city sidewalks. they really aren't designed for street use since they don't go terribly fast and yet they go too fast for normal side walk travel. but there are some cities that are passing laws making them legal to opperate. san francisco was the first I believe. but there is still a lot of debate concerning saftey, as in helmet laws and the such. also 5 grand is a lot of money. and I love to walk so I know I am not in a rush to pick one up.

Middle America = FAT

Southern California = PHAT

People in LA are very Healthy, or they try to be. There is plenty of fat gout stricken UK heads too, all lumpy and shit, with bad teeth and webed feet.

I was looking at that link above and I was really freaked out at the coincidence of a certain link to pictures of a ridulously tat drenched skoda (about halfway down the page) I have actually seen this car parked up in Hungary near lake Balaton a few years ago, I was going to take a photo of it but no one had a camera on them at the time....

Its like something out of a Steampunk novel... bowler hats and personal transports...

Crap name though... it'll probably stick though - say it enough times and 50 years from now Segway will be a normal everyday world - if it takes off...

i used to own a skoda favorit. named it lovely 'skod' or 'favo' or sometimes 'nagnag' because of the loud sounds from the turn signal which sounded like a duck..really loved him and he never disappointed me..hmmmmm
