Troubling isn't it. And certainly not what i expected to read from a supposed 'moderator' of no-future. Some will accuse me of 'not seeing the joke'. Far from it. I see the joke, i see it was laden with irony but that's not what chills me to the core. What scares me is *>this<* kind of flippant comment is now part and parcel of sensible discourse. And whenever attempts to enter into reasonable debate one is greeted with this kind of filth and then followed up with "hay man, chill out, you're on a spazzboard, who cares". Joe, I care. Yes, in the past, I admit I would treat this place as a mere joke-shop, something to make the day go quicker at work. and YES I have been guilty of writing the most banal of words, but I recognise the fallacy in continuing that course. You, whilst often a font of interesting knowledge, have continued to show a gross white-walling of anything that doesn't fit the joesphere. The lesson to be learn't Joe is to keep an open mind. Efforts to take us over the edge of the abyss of obscurantism are not vestiges of a former era. They are the beginnings of a phenomenon which, if permitted to expand unchecked, will elevate Joe's conclusions to prominence as epistemological principles. When Joe says that every word that leaves his mouth is teeming with useful information, he's just plain wrong—not "partially wrong" but "completely and entirely wrong". Surprised? You shouldn't be, because he doesn't use words for communication or for exchanging information. He uses them to disarm, to hypnotize, to mislead, and to deceive.
