Yes - Bob was freaky. I was too young to be watching Twin Peaks when it was 1st on... but I did...

The dancing scenes in that room were pretty freaky...
'the midget fixation'... sounds like the title of an essay you probably should write up for us

the essay would probably just be a series of pictures from time bandits and willow. a lot less sinister (and more boring) than that phrase implies. : P

talking of time bandits has anyone seen the new terry gilliam film?

The thing mad a huge impression on me too, mainly because of the monster design (and music).

They should remake it now, with all that new CGI ;P

Whats that late 70's/early 80's UK kids film about a gang of kids in a model aeroplane club. I can't remember what it's called. I remember liking that when I was younger.

I kept thinking 'Francis Bacon' when it said 'Francis Drake'

Now wordy with Francis Bacon, that would rock.

hah.

recently lili really liked 'the cat in the hat', she's never laughed so much at a film. We enjoyed it as well.

funny, just reading the 'reception' part on wikipedia it seems it got universally panned :

Quote:
This film was controversial and highly criticized mainly for its continuous sexual innuendos.

Obviously a five year old didn't catch any of that

Alex likes 'The Red Balloon'.

Not film, obviously, but he also goes mental for 'You've Been Framed' - which he calls "WHOOPS". I'm wondering at what age it's ok to start him on Jackass.

I've been collecting stuff since the fertilisation of my partner or so.

Some stuff I've remembered that I am looking forward to dusting off and seeing again with Big L

Krtek - der kleine Maulwurf - the little Mole

I don't think that this was as big in England/USA. This was Czech animation at its best. My favorite is probably the 1982 Krtek ve městě, or the little mole goes to the city. I really love this one because it is completely visual, there is no language involved.

Gulliver's Travels in Space aka Gullivers Travels Beyond the Moon
Haven't seen this yet but it features awesome animation and an early electronic soundtrack. What could possibly go wrong?
