decent distortion f.x?

I want to get a decent distortion/overdrive unit for my machine drum,

my experience with these only goes about as far as the roland pedals, I want something dirty to put it through, preferably stereo..

Can anyone recommend anything? I like the Ohmicide plug-in, but want a hardware version!

Cheers - Luke

I've just started playing in a band again and so my interest in pedals has been rekindled. There's so many great boutique / short run home made FX these days - god knows how to choose one.

I like the look of James Plotkin's custom built pedals... they make some sick noise, probably comparable to some of the nasty crushing effects Ohmicide does.

These look great too:

this is a UK shop with a good selection to browse

So many mental pedals out there!

I ended up getting this one:

It's done the dirty business on everything I've chucked at it so far, very happy
