Totally wicked stuff, there is a reason why Max/MSP is such powerful software and this guy has just demonstrated it.

time to dig this out again?

it's me (probably not) using max/msp or something to control the modulation of my SH-101 with my very own shoe.

His face muscles are being twanged... it's called "electric stimulus to face, test 2". Looks deeply uncomfortable.

wouldn't it be nice though if some of these geekfest things that go up on youtube sounded like actual music one might hear in a club, rather than subzxspectrum shite?

Yeah, but it's like the presets on synths. With these geekyspaz things you have to imagine what someone GOOD could do with it.

Unless it involves a Wii controller or an iPhone.. or any sort of tilt-sensors. Then it's just bollocks and anyone using it is a big shitty tit.

First, you mock and declare "not real" the Tyneside/Northern Spanish based dance craze that is 'Makina', now you decide to have a go at some clever fella in Tokyo who makes techno with his face. Pretty harsh attacks here Mike if i'm honest, on two very different angles of the electronic community no less. Dunno if that's fair game really.

I've been making faces with other people's techno for about 17 years now. Do I win a prize or something?

But he's made his FACE. DANCE. His face is dancing. He's wired up his face so it will dance. FACE DANCE! How is that not great?

someone wired me to one of those muscle injury machines once...

its scary the rate you can get your limbs to move with a little bit of comptuer control.

thing is, theyd put the electrodes on slightly wrong, so it felt like someone was dragging thin gauge wire slowly through my bone at the same time...

ouch sounds nasty
i'd quite like to see a video of the sensors wired up so every kick, snare, hat and bass triggered different parts of the body
that would be funny
