I don't really have a phobia, although I don't like heights much. However my friend Flack has a really strong phobia of clowns, I wouldn't recommend anyone dressed as a clown go near him cos he'll probably smack them.

I would have to go for heights. I'm cool in planes etc etc, but it is when I'm somewhere exposed like the up a huge rickety scaffolding on stilts I get a bit unhappy. It might just be hitting the ground very fast I'm afraid of.

Swimming in the sea and relising your miles out from shore (probably not but it seems like that with nothing much underneath you but fish and darkness).

I don't have any off-the-wall ones.

I am allergic to Emo Phillips though, it's horrible.

I didn't know about the tomato thing, but I'll always remember him nearly having a fight with Gary cos he kept teasing him with a clown mask - he really was freaked out by it

i saw a boy (white) eat a whole handful of daddy long legs once.
This is precisely the reason i dispute people when they say that daddy longlegs (craneflies) are poisonous as the boy didn't die from eating them which was a shame as a couple of years later he beat me up for wearing makeup to school.

@ Basic - I can relate to the sea thing. I swam out to the buoy off brighton beach one time, a bit pissed and stoned. On the way back realised that the tide was going out and had really helped on the way out... Suddenly I got really panicky and felt sure I wouldn't make it back. Horrible

Absolutely. I get that panicky breathing thing goin' on as well which really doesn't help matters. I'm not the strongest of swimmers either. However, it freaks me out thinking about it. I also have a thing about being trapped under floating logs as well as you can't really get out from under them and before you know it you are pretty dead indeed.

yer but you dont have a chronic anxiety or fear of a situation that would not be fearful to a person without that phobia.

It isn't uncommon. Mostly all of us react to the moon. Let's face it - it controls the tides, so what does it do to the liquid contained in our bodies?

Yeah, I guess. Most of the things here are mild fears or dislikes. I did have a phobia of lifts, but I over came that. However, it was uncontrollable for so long - I don't actually remember how I overcame it. I used to really think I was going to die any time I went near one, and would insist on taking the stairs or on the occassion I thought I would be OK I would bolt out just before the doors closed. It was a pain the arse visiting my aunt in the high rises though.

This sounds more like a perfectly sane and rational response to me...

I met a mate of a mate who is a guitarist in a punk band - when people would pass out at parties, they'd ease down their trousers, get a condom, spit in it and then poke it up their arse with a pencil...
