That was wicked! Phil would have loved it... cool people, really small intimate venue on the top floor of a building in curtain rd.
Upon entering everyone was stamped with an ink replica of phil's tattoo before ascending the 100 flights of stairs to the party.. I walked in whilst mr. Begg was playing... totally wicked set to get things going properly.. loads of classic old skool phathop and nice grimey basslines galore. Highlight was when the smoke machine went on overload and you literally couldn't see your own hands; over the mic came Si's disembodied voice, very 'radio' style "can anyone see anything? ..... this is nice and fucked up.. just how phil would have wanted it" Class.
Next up mr. Landstrumm played a corker with loads of oldies in there... noticabley more banging than usual but after constant hassles from the owners about the noise levels he gave me the nod to go on the decks rather than compromising his volume..
With the venue owners hovering behind me monitering the led display on the mixer with eagle eyes i worked out that the led display was infact for the headphone level so managed to keep it off the red without too much volume loss or them catching on ..
Next up mr. Lidell treated us all to a mainly accapella live set full of mouth hats and kick mouths that was indeed raucus and definately would have put the willies up anyone who'd only come accross him in recent months. Improvised versions of don't take more and sonelysome(o)ney featured and got a cheer
Then the evil ringleader, mr. Leach came on and played an absolute cracker, beginning with an unreleased subhead joint co-written with phil.. The dancefloor rocked throughout the party and was great to see so many friends with smiles all under one roof.. Wicked to see you and that incredible shirt phil2
Big thanks to Jason and Mick for organising it and bwaarp for the fat sound as usual. I left just before 6 and it was still whirling so i've probably missed out on the best stories that tend to happen 'later on'.. Above all a perfect and fitting send off, full of smiles, good music and good people. There was only one person missing. RIP.

you should of seem my face when i saw how small the room was, we had more bass bins in the van, but there was no room for it really, and as it was the system didnt get out of 3rd gear all night. good fun party, i was wobbling about, eyeballs rolling pretty early on if i remember right (of which i cant be sure..)
