Studio Insurance
We've got a lease on a unit in London now and are starting to set up etc...
Need to look into Insurance. Anyone got any tips before I go signing more fucking cash away.. As much as i'm tempted to leave it to the whims of the higher forces I think I might need to be sensible. Or do I? |

when i next insure things of value like that, im going to make sure that the insrance company gives me written agreement as to the value of the items insured. last time i insred, they certainly made out it was all ok over the phone, but, in reality i doubt that it would be.
i recieved a letter only just this morning for an entirely different insurance claim which basically came down to "even though youve specifically asked for [x] cover on this single item, and paid accordingly, now that we've lost it, we need writen, external, proof of the stated value" in this instance [a postal claim] i a) couldnt have planned for them to loose the item, and b) wouldnt have paid for the insurance if i didnt think it was worth that much (ie theres no way i could plan to defaud them, nor would it have been logical for me to over insure, as items only rarely go missing) after the flat next to mine in brighon got robbed for the 2nd time , i started taking regular sets of photos of the items insured (in context), but i think they would have denied any claim all the same :/ |

I know a few peeps round here who have.. and now that I think of it, one of them recommended joining the Musicians Union cos he said they have good insurance deals. You wouldn't imagine they'd recommend crap ones. Worth phoning them and asking.
