webcams - which one to buy?

subject says it all really...

theres loads about, but i bet some are crap, whilst others the same price are better.
  • dont want to spend crazy money (like def under £60, ideally under £40)
  • want somthing that can function in lower light conditions for IM chatter with friends
  • want something that, if i take it out to the garden (ie natural lighting, with laptop) i can make decent'ish youtube style vids of eqipment
anyone got any knowlege?

thanks, julian

Your average digital stills camera will take video as good as or better than a webcam.

Worth checking out really cheap digital stills cameras with a video function though I reckon, might be a bit more versatile.

you can, i've got an xacti (dmx-c6) which has a 'webcam' mode. much better framerate than the creative webcam. only problem is that the xacti doesnt work with skype, which is the only thing i use the webcam for.

little webcams hidden inside modded 606s so he can see what you really get up to with your drum machine's DIN port.
