Japanese electronic music- Logic Systems, YMO etc

Don't know much about Japanese electronica, any tips?

I just heard a Logic System track on a skweee radio show. Pretty good, quite old afaik. The Dj called it 'proto-skweee'

Also, which YMO stuff is best?

Anything else?

The Japanese stuff I've already heard is mostly guitar-based and psychedelic e.g. AMT, OOIOO, Kawabata Makoto's solo stuff etc etc

Ken Ishii - Innerelements is great and also very old.. not as old as YMO though

DJ Klock, who just commited suicide in London this year, is good.
I have his album called "sensation".
Very Japanese in a way. Well, in many ways.

He said he doesn't care about other musicians.
He had a wife and a baby son.

RIP DJ Klock.

Great! you can listen to most of the songs from the album here.

this is all done using the software "Hatune Miku".
All the sound including the vocals has been generated by the software.
Yamaha's Vocaloid technology has been adapted into this software.
You can let the computer voice sing.

Fly me to the moon (I doubt the English is good enough for you to understand)

Go Hiyama!

And I think he has a brother Jin Hiyama, both make pretty sweet technoes.

I saw Ryuichi Sakamoto at the Decibel Fest 2 years ago, and his video/audio shit was sooooooooooo awesome.

I was retarded (more so than usual) for like 2 months afterwards.

I also like Riow Arai, although he seems to have teamed up with a rapper called nongenetic now, his earlier albums like 'Circuit’72' and 'Mind Edit' were good.

http://www.soup-disk.com/fullcatalog.html

he's also done some work with Tujiko Noriko, here's a video of hers:

just watched a couple of de de mouse videos on youtube. far out.

If you are into glitchy herbertesque (reminds me a little of 'around the house') electronica, the aforementioned Tujiko Noriko did an album with Aoki Takamasa called 28, which is entirely non-offensive.
