looks interesting.. very cheap.. no dongle.. and a more pro tools like 'one window' interface with sample accurate editing.. I'm definitely interested.

They've dropped the environment tho.. although that won't bother me as long as there is some flexible midi routing.. as I use a custom environment to path the midi output from my G2 to other synths via logic.

nice. i'm preparing to get a mac pro and logic at the moment so the timing couldn't be better. hopefully the audio editing is good enough to negate the need for protools (which i like, but i don't like shittydesign mbox crippleware le).

Apple are in such a strong position at the moment.. being able to price this so competitively.. same goes for Final Cut Studio.

the comping video looks like it handles editing very well indeed. i suppose it's expected that they would take on protools the same way they took on avid with final cut. let's hope it's not too buggy.

From the tech specs it looks like the environment is still in logic 8

The new delay designer sounds top, quick swipe comping is neat, and sample accurate editing in arrange window is finally here. Also Soundtrack Pro2 included which i was thinking of buying, so a $199 upgrade price for me is a sweet deal!

The Environment Lives! And to its naysayers, I’ll just have to call up Steve Horelick, get together with Logic 8, and put together a whole bunch of new tutorials demonstrating how cool this is.

The latest version of Final Cut Pro really streamlined a lot of the complex settings with wizards etc.. hopefully they've implemented something similar.

apart from using rewire to pipe ableton into logic, i don't think so.

or you could use something like soundflower or jack.. but yeah no way to do it without logic running.

the pricks are the people who define the audio unit and VST specs.. which means native plugs can do things that they can't..
