What sort of stuff were they playing?

Fri- Sheffield to visit my parents, eve watched the final episodes of Gormsby & had a few glasses of wine.
Sat- family things, then got mashed up with Spandex & Yer_Maw in a pub, but played an 'anything goes' sort of set. My headphone cable got trodden on & i couldn't hear to mix tho.
Sun- Nice lunch at home, pub PM, eve internet

went to my cousin's wedding on Saturday. I still have a hangover. Don't think anyone felt particularly clever on Sunday morning, certainly not anyone in my family.

Fuck all really. Recovering from my gran's funeral. Trying to work. Out with mates down the pub Friday. A very fine vodka espresso at Olv's yesterday afternoon then watching the elderly gays on BBC4... "If tha can stand oop in public and say tha've been a poof all thy life, then yer a better man than me... now come on and ave a pint!" from the old yorkshire miner brought a tear to my eye... reading the new William Gibson and listening to all this month's experimental and dubstep promos for my reviews pages today, just trying to write a few reviews now so I can start the week with not too much work pressure.

Met Spewis in the west end and sold him a 606.

Celebrated scoring a new job in London by throwing a wee dinner party round my ladys house and getting cunted on red wine.

Went and checked out a studio space in Hackney i'm using to throw a party in.

Played some cards.

skint so it was a quiet one

friday - sat up all night, put some stuff on ebay and started putting my records on the discogs database, still got loads more to do

saturday - felt like a coiled spring all day, went for a walk in cammo woods then later got too drunk on red wine and went moody, a bad combination of PMT and too much red wine not good

sunday - walked along to ocean terminal to buy tampons and then to tescos later to get something to eat

exciting stuff

most exciting bit if the weekend was seeing one of these..

Friday - went for walk in the dales with dad and brother - felt chilled for the first time in months - saw wabbits and hawks and sheep and trees and lakes - I need to see these things more often
Saturday - Sonic Youth at the Roundhouse - astounding - they fucking rock, even though they're now Sonic MiddleAge. Then went to a shit acid techno rave and left after half an hour to be violently ill whilst simultaneously suffering from a nosebleed - dunno whether that was a reaction to the music or to a dodgy chicken noodle thing I bought from a Blade Runner stall in Camden
Sunday - chilling with mates, then cooked a roast and gorged ourselves

friday: went to pub straight from work and then went to a party full of foreign postgraduate students, who are the most boring people on earth.

Sat: Went to see Irrungenwirrungen dj and drank a few pints. Ate some processed cheese before passing and was sick all over my house.

Sunday: Mostly attempting to clean sick out of the carpet and watchin loads of documentaries.

watched a lot of trailer park boys on saturday, went out for dinner and lazed about sunday, only to find I couldn't sleep until 4 in the morning

Friday - went to see da yoof at the Roundhouse and I agree, they absolutely fucking rock. All bands need to use more feedback. Best gig I've been to in ages. Didn't think they were looking too bad for their ages, all things considered. Lee Ranaldo did look a bit "mate's cool dad" though.

Saturday - Went to the Crafting Beauty in Modern Japan exhibition at the British Museum which was wicked. Some really beautiful, brilliantly crafted objects. Mooched around some of the rest of the BM and marvelled at the vast array of treasures and historically and archaeologically important pieces teefed from other cultures around the world. Thought about going to Theo at PP but delayed hangover and tiredness got the better of me so I lamed out and limped back to Darzet instead.

Sunday - Did manly stuff like changing washers on taps and cutting branches off trees, cut grass and other assorted dullness.

What i got up to in pales in comparison to Mr Si 'Dexorcist' Brown's weekend, which involved going on a stag do in the west-end, stealing a rickshaw, getting chased by 5-0 and when eventually caught - getting rugby tackled by the po-lice and breaking his ankle, in 7 places

No arrests were made bizarrely.

Get well Simon!
