G8 Summit 2007

our government has gone real crazy before the G8 Summit in Heiligendamm.
I wonder how much of that reach people outside of Germany?

recently: some journalists who have written before critically about the summit didn't get an accreditation for it.
and demonstrations within a radius of 5km outside the newbuilt fence are forbidden.

there were thay more happening. and it's all really weird. like watching a tv-series. like living all of a sudden in different country.

yeah, heard about that on The Today Programme this morning. The fence is apparently high enough so you can't throw anything over it, either.

I like how western countries have all managed to sort out the problem with public and legal demonstrations, but subtly equating them with terrorism, and therefore a threat to security.

eygh, i aint complete outstander, i saw the fence on german tv and some newslines about it. but now they are realy tight in case of security.

poor peeps living in Heiligendamm, they now live in the safest place around the globe and outside it. the looks of policestand around the town remember me of police-groups standing waiting in the bushes to german fesitvals, always and everywhere on the road towards and poss 4 check's on 1 km. didn't stalone make a movie about it: copland??

when the G8 was in the states a few years ago they held the summit on an island off of the georgia coast line. no one was allowed on the island.
people could protest, but only about a mile from the coast line.
