Innovative new music
Heard any ?
Im listening to DHG - Supervillain Outcast a lot. Which despite sounding like its an MF Doom album is a really interesting mix of metal / electronics / dark ambience. definitely worth checking out if you are after something with a new sound. |

I'm getting into older and older music. I'm going to end up as one of those freaks who won't listen to anything unless it's performed using authentic medieval crumhorns.

I'm liking the new Throbbing Gristle album 'The Endless Not'.. their first new release in twenty years.. it's very subtle, well crafted and well.. dark.. unsurprisingly.

I like the Skull Disco records more and more. Definitely feels like they are doing something genuinely different.
and for ancient instruments, the new Colleen album (les ondes silencieuses) is very very pretty and features the Viola De Gamba. I like Panda Bear's Person Pitch for popiness and oddness combined. Otherwise, the amazing Nico and Arthur Russell re-issues have kept me occupied the past few months. |

i've notice that lately i like to listen music that has to do with south, southeast europian folk music, that hasn't electronic sounds. i feel like i'm tired from electronic sounds. that's why i like to listen more metal music :-)
i like this band and similar to them. they sound great live. two years ago me and mdk went on a concert in an old inn (we call it an) and it was really great. maybe we should go on more concerts this summer since Lili is not that little :-) check: http://www.myspace.com/projectzlust Kurshumli An ![]() |

I'd love to but i'm going on holiday that day.... I presume they'll show the short Derek Jarman films with Coil soundtracks too, the one called 'bankside' has an amazing bit of music on it but it's never been released. |

There's a skweeemix in the flash player (top one in the list) on the nation of skwee page by kool dj dust, not downloadable but nice nonetheless if you want an introduction to this sound. Tracked down another of his mixes but dunno if it stay s within that genre, link on this page:
http://blog.myspace.com/index.cfm?fu...b-4fed9e470e90 edit- nope, it's a pure disco mix, like it says on the tin.. Last edited by thepigjockey : 9th May 2007 at 04:27. |

Digging Skweee
Kuduro is quite interesting - Angolan booty music, quite often with techno influence. Haven't managed to work out who's the good artists - not speaking Portugese doesn't help - but it's fun anyway. |

wee djs forthcoming album
sounds like aliens beaming death rays into your brain and then manipulating the smoking shrivelled up remains. also digging mr76ix on that tip - total fucked up music. Look forward to checking : DHG - Supervillain Outcast : sounds wicked. cheers MDK. |

That's wicked. Especially the dancing styles and the gurning.
The music's good too, reminds me a little bit of the Baile Funk stuff that wheezer played me. |

It's very like Baile Funk - obviously the Portugese rapping style is influenced by the Brazilian stuff, but Kuduro seems to have more techno influence (it's partly evolved in Lisbon, which would explain that) compared to Baile Funk's Miami Bass basis |

loz you spoiled it, we were supposed to wait until he said he did and then spring shi-ting on him...oh the hilarity ![]() As for Skull Disco, try the Shackleton side of Soundboys ashes get chopped up and snorted. majestic visions is great too. But I wouldn't listen to 'em on through a clip on boomkat, try to get mp3's at least and I think they need to be loud on decent speakers. |

some of the shackleton stuff on skull disco is worth checking, 'blood on my hands' is good.. the other artist doesn't really do it for me though.
