TR-606 midi sync

Does anyone know of a midi sync kit for the 606?

I can find midi trigger kits, but I'm assuming these all just trigger the sounds, and don't clock the internal sequencer. I want to use the internal sequencer, but have it clocked to my other gear.

Philip Rees make a MIDI - sync 24 converter or the Kenton Pro 2000 is a pricier solution which might be worth it if you have any other analogue gear.

I'd prefer an internal job, if possible

Why?

The Philip Rees does exactly the job you need. I've had various little bits of Philip Rees gear and they're fuckin hardcore. Proper oldskool Atari-and-a-Juno-in-the-bedroom-techno vibe. The Kenton is overkill for just sending a clock but a well nice bit of gear if you have other old synths or aspirations towards a dotcom modular system or suchlike.

Fair enough. Here ya go.

I would have said the 606 was too small to put a circuit like that inside. Looks just the job. There's some more bumph at Vintage Synth Explorer.

On a triggering rather than a clock note, I thought the 505 would make quite a good way of triggering the 606 or the DR-110. I've figured out where to get triggers from the 505 circuit board that will light LED's from each drum so I don't think it would a huge leap to get it to trigger the individual sounds on an analogue drum machine.

Me too. Saddly I think they've stopped making all their midi boxes now to focus on music PCs.

Oh .. a quick look at their site and it appears they've stopped trading altogether.

yeah, I noticed Philip Rees boxes aren't in the studiospares catalogue anymore. Which is a bit annoying, as I was going to buy one of their midi splitter boxes.

Burnkit 2600 has all the info on mods to the 505. I found different places on the board to take triggers from (the big IC between the audio and MIDI outs) but this guy seems to have tested the ones he found with some sort of analogue drum machine.

That's a real shame Philip Rees no longer make MIDI gear. Very few people have the large MIDI setups that need MIDI thru's and mergers these days I suppose.

I think i have one of these 200099278534 somewhere.

Its tiny. I know you dont want external boxs, but, assuming you could run it off a 9v battery, it would be little more than a bulge in the cable...

If youre keen, pm me and ill try and find the one i have here.

Or a TR-707 for that matter. I think the 707 needs to be the master clock though.

http://www.beam.to/midi303

here you can get internal kits for TB303, TR606 or SH101, CV-gate kits and more for small money. The guy is a friend of mine, he's from austria and he does a very good job - he midificated my TR606 an repaired my SVC-350.
