iPhone - awesome!

Check out Apple's new iPhone

3.5" wide screen, multi-touch touchscreen, 8GB capacity, wifi and it runs full OS X...

http://www.engadget.com/2007/01/09/the-apple-iphone/

Only downside is no 3G - hope that changes for the European market model...

Check out the live MacWorld transcript for some of the features they're demoing at the moment...
http://www.applegazette.com/mac/live-macworld-coverage/

It does indeed look great...

End of 07 for European release though - it better fucking having 3G otherwise Jobs dies...

i know what your saying.

There's nothing new about this phone. Its obvious as a product the history is that apple managed to bring it to market.

I've got a blackberry and its really basic old skool. Its the latest model on 3G and it just doesn't give you a simple rich web experience. The websites barely show and email is whack. If you can be arsed to hunt and undertsnad how to install apps you can get gmail mobile running... a bit of clunk and you can just about get maps working. Blackberry did nothing to improve interface design they just coppied.

Micosoft have been playing in theis space since the SPV launch... which was like a windows 95 launch.

even if you ignored the design this product is first to market with alot of software features that join to getehr what ou want to do with a phone.

i' still interested in jam protection

agreed.
those last adverrts nearly switched me to pc.
i wish i had. just bought a macbookpro out of their trendy store. the wifi is broken (apparently this is not uncommon on the latest macbooks) and i can't see anyone at the store about it cos i have to "pre-book an appointment" on the internet at no earlier than 12.00 and no later than 12.05 the previous day- the appintments fill up in no time by fucking Procare customers learning how to fucking use transitions on imovie or something. and they don't have "customer services" they have a fucking "genius bar". euuurgh.

I was interested in jam protection years ago, when they smeared jam on cd's on Tomorrow's World. I think Apple have cottoned onto the fact that jam protection is a big selling point.

yeah, that and teh fact that apple puts fences around their product that are so high it's just ridiculous. itunes been a bad drm-joke for a while now but this one:

It's not extensible by third parties(!)

it's carrier locked(!!!)
