Apparently so. My friend Toby (Bleep43) went on Saturday but apparently they only let him on the small one. I think it will be fully open from tomorrow though.

I want to go on the big one, looks like it'll be both great fun and slightly scary

Woopee - everytime there's a big installation the urge to climb all over it is massive. When they had all those white boxes - it was really funny seeing kids climbing on the boxes - and the curators trying to stop them from doing so.

There is this one in Leicester

Got really excited about it when they first built it but it turned out to be something of an anticlimax as it wasn't very slidy at all.

I want a slide from my office straight to my car. Make going home at the end of the day even better.

Those kids were so cute when they were trying to climb on them. Even I wanted a go....

I want to go on the slide!

Getting people into art galleries is great, as is encouraging people to think about art, but imo if I was a client and I arrived at an office which contained a slide I'd proably walk straight out. I hate all that stuff. If you want your staff to enjoy their work there are surely plenty of more direct ways of doing this.

edit- bah humbug, grumble grumble etc etc. This can probably all be traced back to the time when I was working in Soho and the office looked impressive- flatscreens, big glass tables and reception desk, fancy lighting etc. but the management of the place was an absolute shambles. Do they expect the client is going to say "Oh look! Fancy glass table!/slides for adults!" let's forget about the fact that you just fucked us over and ripped us off..."

what if your office was both a nice place to work AND had a slide?

No slide. No niceness. When anyone asked me how I was between 2002-2005 I would have told them I HATE MY FUCKING JOB! Pleased to be out of it.

see, if they had a slide, you could have used that to get out of it. Much more fun.

they wouldn't even let us have a toaster and kettle where I work right now. They even complained when someone brought a fridge in.

Get down there quick folks - some kid is bound to hurt himself within a few weeks of the slides opening - and they'll be closed to the public toot sweet...

They'll have to put those signs up that say...

"Please do not touch the artwork as even the grease from your fingers can damage the surface and materials"

The ultimate cruelty...

I remembered that had them up for Anish Kapoor big trumpet thingie and the stupid thing about that was it was clearly made using the same technology that is used to make massive marquees, hot air balloons and the like and you see all the finger and hand marks from all teh sweaty labourers that had actually had to make the thing.

But there we were not touching cos a bit of grease from my fingers etc etc. I felt like sticking a big bit of bubblegum on the thing...
