Do you leave your tent behind?
I helped some, earlier in the week, at the site of one of the V festivals, collecting up tents to be sent as charity aid.
I was amazed. I really didnt think the estimates were accurate, and that we'd kinda be wasting out time - that maybee one or two tents would be left, but i laughed at the estimate of 800... When we got there, it seemed like every 5th tent was left behind. Sure, a lot of them had been the victims of all sorts of fesival mayhem, but a lot were perfect, and often it was clear that the tent had only been used the once. I can kinda see why, financially, - a pair of tickets are, maybee 250 or so, and a cheap tent is maybee 25quid, but, even so, i was shocked. Oh yeah, i dont drink - but the quantity of cans of beer left too... |

this happens at loads of festivals. I never understand it, well, I can, it's just laziness. A few people I know hang around until late on a Monday, and find themselves a nice new tent for free at Glastonbury every year, which they proceed to use for the rest of the year.
