has any one used one of these excusively for vocal processing, in particular live???
was thinking of gettin one for whackky live vox fx?? would like to know if it sounds pretty tight but easy to spaz out... namshub |

It's good for things like vocoding, phasing, chorusing, amp modulation etc.. basically tight things which aren't really changing the overall time structure of the vocal itself... because it doesn't have any delays or reverbs to radically splurge stuff. But yeah it can get very spazzy. It's not brilliant for doing regular pitchshifting though, that can take a lot of work and isn't particularly convincing although you can get there via other means like ring modulation etc. I think Cristian and Jamie used it for vocal stuff on the first SC album?

yeah you could do that, the vocoder does take up a whopping amount of the DSP though so the second channel would have to be quite simple. If you weren't doing vocoding you could get two quite complex patches out of a micro though. |

yeah, the vocoder takes up 50% of the patch space.
for my first live setup i was using some patches on the micro to do sequenced drums and synth sounds and vocal processing... seriously pushing the 99% mark there. |

I reckon so ![]() it's great for weird distortions, filtering etc.. but the lack of serious RAM on the DSP means that the only delay type FX you can do is a flange. ........................... lovely cloakroom. lovely cloaks - barbam nondum video |

i'm the same, but that's only cos i have a keyboard now. i'm gonna lend the micromodular to a mate, but it's so hard to do cos it's just so damn sexy. i love having it around.
