Just bought this for £30

This:-

Clockaudio Boundary layer microphone model C009E (omni directional polar pattern) a Ampetronic MP101 Preamplifier and Ampetronic PS3 Power Supply.

chuffed, its going straight on my piano-frame so I can publicly abuse the poor thing.

lovely. what does it 'sound' like? I got into miking up my upright a while ago. amazing what a tiny shift in mic placement will do to the sound.

this is, by far, the best purchase of my musical life!!! Its LOVELY.

Bright, but warm in a gothic sort of way.

Screwed it to the middle of the soundboard, plugged it in and started attacking the strings and almost creamed my pants!

It weighs an absolute ton, too!

my guitar teacher and i done it one day for a laugh. That was, until the head of music wandered in as i was putting a screwdriver between the strings. Will never forget the look on his face.

R.I.P. mr polland.

oops, I didn't spot any replies to this thread.... sorry, I wasn't ignoring you.

Yeah, prepared piano is where its at. Ping-pong balls work wonders, as well as the usual croc-clips etc etc

I bought it on Ebay, and haven't seen another for sale anywhere since, not of this type anyhow, and certainly not at that price.

Using it tonight
