CRISTIAN VOGEL and JAMIE LIDELL, two of electronica's most respected and talented producers, joined forces in 1997 to form SUPER_COLLIDER. It has taken almost three years since their explosive debut "Head On" in 1999 to complete, but finally SUPER_COLLIDER are back with the incredible, suprising second album "Raw Digits". Maybe we have a future classic on our hands.
The album was three years in making and recorded in Brighton, Berlin and Barcelona. Whilst "Head On" could be summed up by the word "funk", "Raw Digits" is pure soul - but with the uber- innovative production twists you would expect from this duo. It represents an exploration by CRISTIAN and JAMIE into the deep, smooth sound of SUPER_COLLIDER.
"Messagesacomin" (which features on the first 12", with remixes by Chungking and MDK, EFA #52301-6) opens the album, followed by the paranoid squelch funk of "close tails". The freaks rule on "Bug Trackin'". The beautiful, heartbreaking "Gravity Rearrangin, " features the lightening fingers of MATTHEW HERBERT on bass keyboard. "Soily Soul" slinks on dub-tronica style."Spillin Visions" is pure Collider, production perfect, with blissful vocals. "In The Beams" is next with its clicky restlessness and space is the place lyrics. "Radianations On The Rise" tells an often told tale of arrogance in high style. the album finishes with the gothic R 'n' B masterpiece that is "Collide'n'Conquer."
"Raw Digits" throws up recurring phrases that please and perturb by turns. After listening to this you will feel like you've been somewhere else. It is an essential purchase for anyone who cares about electronic music.
Describing this music is not easy...it DEMANDS TO BE HEARD.

Artist Overview:
SUPER_COLLIDER are CRISTIAN VOGEL and JAMIE LIDELL. They met in 1996 having admired each others solo work and quickly decided to share a studio in Brighton. Work began on what was to become their debut album "Head On" in 1997, and was released on local label Loaded Records in May 1999 to much critical praise. The second album began in less convenient circumstances when JAMIE decided to move to Berlin in early 2000, and ended with CRISTIAN moving to Barcelona - the album therefore was recorded in three locations, and in November 2001 "Raw Digits" was completed. From the release of "Head On" in 1999, to finishing their second album "Raw Digits" in 2001 the band had left Loaded Records to set up the No Future-managed Rise Robots Rise label, remixed Bush, played at the Transmusicales festival, Berlin Love Parade, Roskilde, Sonar (1999 + 2000) Pukklepop, Lowlands, Indiann Summer Australia, Lissard Festival Ireland, Lethargy (Switzerland), Mannheim Jazz Festival, Digital Convenience (Tokyo), Big Beat Boutique, as well as many club appearances, including their own renowned club "Freekin the Frame" at the Beach in Brighton and The End in London. They also won "Best Producers" for "Head On" at the inaugural German Dance Awards in 2000.
CRISTIAN VOGEL released his 8th solo album "Sing Sweet Software" under the pseudonym "Trurl and Klapaucius" in 2001, on Tresor's art label Supremat. Previous albums have been on Mille Plateaux ("Beginning to Understand", "Specific Momentific" ), Tresor ("Absolute Time", "Bodymapping", "All Music Has Come To An End" "Busca Invisibles" ) and Novamute ("Rescate 137" ). He has recently produced new French band SCRATCH MASSIVE's debut album in 2001 and is working as producer for Chicks On Speed, as well as DJing and playing live all over Europe.
JAMIE LIDELL, having enjoyed success as an acclaimed techno producer on Subhead, Sativae, Mosquito and Tresor, released his debut album "Muddlin Gear" on Warp / Spymania in 2000. He spent 2001 recording the follow up, as well as playing many exciting solo live shows, and doing remixes for artists such as HERBERT. He also features as a vocalist and collaborator on the new LO-FIDELITY ALLSTARS album "Dont Be Afraid of Love."
