could be, no idea. to me it sounds like one of those acid coincidences where someone sticks on a record from the dregs of their collection for the laugh and it skips in best way possible.

never thought I like anything Chris de Burgh related, but I do like it

platinum ray - just that Thames Ident scared me enough alone.
thembuzz will confirm (if he remembers me saying ages ago) - there was something eerie about it.

yeah, that ident is well creepy. i think it's the way the city just rises up out of the river. not the fact that it does so, but the manner. it's kind of supernatural, puts me in mind of a malevolent, sprite-like creature emerging from behind a piece of furniture. and why is there no displacement in the water?

also, the music is bleak as fuck

I read Chocky recently, really worth it. It's all written from the parents point of view... they just catch snippets of his conversations etc.

I'm with you on this Andy.
It was bleak and creepy. Although I think my big sister thought it was hilarious that it scared me.

I never found the Thames thing scary, I actually found it kind of comforting as a child. the Chocky theme though, that is truly the stuff of nightmares
