word docs mac-windows.

how come it fucks up the allignment when i go from mac to windows? are the borders set different? i would check myself but my windows set up is f%^ked and i'm dealing with a monkey on the other end of the line.

if they don't need to edit it.. send it them as a PDF.. OSX should do that out the box.. and u can dl sommat called "PDFCreator" for Windoze that'll let you print to PDF.

If they *do* need to edit it ... then.. um.. i'll shutup and go away.

it's probably something stupid like you computer had decided that the paper size is letter rather than A4

cos macs are like 'special' computers. just get a sony vivo if wanky case. centrino duo and xp pro is where its at. get a proper compter.

I'm using a PB and exchange DOCs with PC users every day - never had this problem.

Which version of Word have you got installed, which version of Word has he got installed?

aye me too, my version on the mac has a little button which you can press to check compatibility with any other version of word.. it always comes back saying it is fine though so I don't even bother anymore.

hmmm you could be on to something here i'm using Word : Mac v.X liscenced to 2001, not sure what he's got but i'll try updating anyhow. plus i havn't seen that compatability thing before - could be handy.

If he's using some rather old version of word, that could be it - try having him download the free word document viewer for windows from the microsoft homepage... you could always go with JonnySpeeds sensible solution otherwise

yeah i've already got around it the way spandex suggested, still making me curious though..

btw which verious are you running on your PB?
