recording bass guitar

what is the best way to record my bass in cubase? I only have the mic input on my computer just now. Should I run the bass through a DI box into the mixer and then into the pc?

thanks for the info

I dont think you can seriously expect to get any good bass recordings through the mic input of your PC ... At minimum a DI box from an AMP to control the impedence ... But ideally an instrument pre-amp , like a bass amp head or a preamp/compressor, and into your mixer and then into a decent sound card on your computer to convert it into digital information.. otherwise you just get some kind of twangy resemblance of bass guitar , which wont do any of your playing much justice!
