whoah... "the new Audio Input Thru function, enables input signals to be manipulated on the fly—enabling DJs, for example, to input a sound while live on stage, sample it, and assign it to the instrument’s pads for playback"

I really timed it right didn't I.. wow.. G2+MPC1k is a fucking setup alright. RAAAAAA.

Anyone on here done the RAM upgrade with non-Akai? I've had a look on the MPC forums and think I know what to get.. but those forums are a bit polluted with "lots of attitude, little knowledge"

I'm hoping the blue MPC's get cheaper second hand now the black one is coming out. I definitely prefer the blue one I think.

Kingston ram work fine for me

KVR133X64SC3/256 Kingston ValueRam 256MB PC133 SDRAM 144pin SODIMM CL3

for some reason you need to get 256MB card even though the mpc only uses 128MB of it.

Anybody fitted a hard disk to their mpc?

i thought about that but I think the OS is written onto a seperate internal flash when it's installed, so it wouldn't be easy (or maybe even possible) to retrieve it.

i'm gonna cover mines in black marker pen and swap it in a shop when no one's looking...

It's something about it being double sided but the Akai only using one side or sommat?

I suspect I will fit an HD.. cos I don't have a compact flash card.. but I do have spare HDs.. so i might as well buy the mounting kit instead of a flash card.

It takes laptop sized drives rather than normal IDE though right?

"Added ability to change sequences by external MIDI program change"

Good for the Nord G2 owners I wonder if you can force it to change sequence immediately rather than waiting for current sequence to finish.

that would be blooming handy that, if you could set the sequence change to the quantize, you could get some swish edits going

yeah.. you could use it more like a phrase sequencer.. .but then hasn't some kind of phrase sequencing thing been added? maybe that is the MPC2500.

i can't understand why they did'nt include the grid-edit function from the 2500, the chop-chop and the sample-phrases features are nice ... but they can't tell me that it's not possible to make the grid edit work on the 1000s os.
