Bass Junkie/Cut Out/Hidden Persuader - Auxilec/Leicester/24.02.06
This is going to be a HOT one... Saw the Hidden Persuader last year at Polar1 and they were superb.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - auxilec ::: friday 24.02.06 full on electro . bleep n bass bass junkie | LIVE EXCLUSIVE [battle trax / breakin' records] cut out | LIVE [ugly funk / nest] the hidden persuader + info cifon | LIVE [access tonal communications] steve morgan | LIVE [auxilec] mo | DJ [auxilec] plus warped visuals from eddie23 [auxilec] venue : THE MUSIC CAFE, new park street [off braunstone gate], leicester LE3 5NH [next to 'the jam jar' and opposite 'the pump & tap'] doors : 10pm - 3am admission : #8.00 / #6.00 members Prepare yourself for an electrobotic bass invasion as the legendary 'Bass Junkie' headlines our next event in february at a new 400 capacity venue. One of the true leaders of the electro movement, Bass Junkie runs the acclaimed Battle Trax imprint - releasing fast and furious retro-styled miami bass electro. He's recorded two LPs for Ed DMX's Breakin' Records, remixed Radioactive Man and Man Parrish, and collaborated with electro pioneers Dynamix II. His speaker shakin' low frequencies, slammin' 808 beats and futuristic robot sounds have infiltrated labels including Touchin' Bass, Audio Illusion and the awesome Control Tower imprint [run by The Dexorcist and Radioactive Man]. Heavily influenced by the old skool machine funk of Kraftwerk, Juan Atkins and Egyptian Lover - Bass Junkie has pushed his own brand of twisted electro to innocent victims around the world as both a dj and live act. Be warned, this is serious booty shakin' electro bass that takes no prisoners. Cut Out gained recognition for his live sets in the late nineties at the infamous Ugly Funk nights where he developed his trademark 'sludge' sound - a combination of distorted hip hop beats and warped electro. He's released EP's on Tobias Schmidt's Nest label, turned out a remix of the C64 classic 'Arkanoid' on Germany's L'Age D'or as well as EP's for Werk in London and net label Basterdized. Cut Out will be stepping up the pace with a hybrid of jackin' electro beats and no holds barred rave madness. The Hidden Persuader & iNFO_cIFON are two future freedom fighters from Access Tonal Communication's electro division. They've targeted clubs all over the country with the driving force of Electro Bass. Recent live strikes have been heard on Radio 1's Rob Da Bank show and at Machine Records' Terminal parties in Cardiff where they've worked crowds into a frenzy with their raw, unadulterated live sets. Having released several EP's and two albums on their own A.T.C. label, they will soon be launching their new EP 'Deconstruction Theory' on Machine Records in february. Auxilec's resident bleep n bass meister Steve Morgan will be on hand at the battle station to deliver a fully charged electro set. DJ support comes from resident deck wizard Mo who'll be chopping up detroit classics from the likes of Drexciya, Dopplereffekt and Ectomorph. This looks set to be the best Auxilec yet, so if you have somewhere to stay in Leicester or can stretch to a cheap B&B - this event will definitely be worth travelling for. The new venue is wicked, with two fully licensed bars, a balcony chill out area, cloakroom and a large car park opposite the club. See you at the party... you know it's gonna be rockin'. |

Yeah, i was just going to edit that to say "Offer limited to first 2 people"!
I've played at Auxilecs since we moved up here about 1.5 years ago... here's a link to the live set from my first one: http://www.cutoutonline.co.uk/mp3s/c...iveAuxilec.mp3 I've played at the Auxilec Ambient session too under my Shirk monikor (1st Sunday of every month) at the Looking Glass on Braunstone Gate (great beer!)... Not sure if we've met Kams, but I'll mention you to Steve - he must know you! Would be great to see you at one in the near future ![]() |

Yeah - I know Steve, say Hello. I think I must have moved down to London just before you moved to Leicester by the sounds of it. Braunstone Gate is a funny old corner of the world these days. That venue that Auxilec is at used to be a Working Mens Club. |
