I would buy the Poly Evolver over the Monomachine anyday.

They are 2 very different machines and are both great in their own ways, what are you looking to do with them?

Are you looking for something to be sequenced from a pc in the usual manner then get the poly, or a standalone sort of groovebox/drum machine thingy then go for the mono machine. The step sequencer on the mono is integral to how you use it. If you don't want to get to grips with its sequencer and use it like a conventional keyboard then I'd say go for the poly evolver.

I don't actually have an evolver myself, but I do have a monomachine. Its a very different piece of kit like nothing I've ever used before

the poly evolver (or single evolver) both have sequencers...as you can see in the upper right hand corner of the face plate. however, the sequencers are vastly different approaches to step sequencing it seems to me...
the evolvers have analogue oscilators and filters (as well as digital oscilators too)..the monomachine is purely digital. go play them both...the evolver is at guitar center...monomachines are harder to come by...at least in chicago.. |

I think I'd go for the monomachine and the monophonic evolver too if it was me. Or the machinedrum at least. I wish they showed up second hand more
![]() I never found that polyphonic analogue synths were any better than monophonic ones. One big sound is plenty. |
