Never touched the k station- the drumstation and bass station were really fun, but built like hasbro toys. cheap is an understatement.

i played with the a station (the rack of the k-station) and i really wasn't very impressed at all. for that price range, you're better off buying a used waldorf micro-q; more polyphony/multitimbrality and way better filters. the novation nova is pretty cool though. i've used the nova laptop module and it sounds fantastic but it is a very very clean sounding synth... but they are coming down in price and they are very powerful and they have a great interface. i can't really say the same for the micro-q though.. lots of grid-like assignment controls, ei. this knob + this category let you tweak that parameter. i'm not a fan of the micro-q interface.

thats it!
better buy an micro modular pille!

I have a Novation Drumstation and i must say it isn´t really cool for that price range i´ve bought for some years ago.
Also had my fingers on the Bass Station and wasn´t impressed by it.
I would never buy Novation stuff again

Yo, I love my drumstation... think it´s way too cool! I would never think of buying a tr909 or 808 today!
It´s a little cheap piece of modul with lots of qualities! And the sound.... that´s up to you!

I also recommend Jomox airbase... freaked little box with a lot of DIFFERENT drumsounds. Make your own just the way you like...

Bugger the jomox, the price is way to high (in their defense, it's about as cheap as they can make it with the size of the company, and the quality involved). I'd just get a micromodular and patch drum sounds that way. *wink*

The drumstation rocks in the sound department if you get it cheap, much nicer then the real deal (church of roland, bah), but only if you really dig midi sequences. The construction is cheap and shitty, but the kicks sound real nice if you layer the 909 and 808 on every hit :)..

yeah, i own the airbase too and i really like it alot! The lfo´s are the coooooooool
okay the kicks on the novation are good, but the hihats have not enough tune range and also the claps are not really cool.

But its better to buy this one instead of a 909 and 808 when you have to have a look on the money
