scotland is tops for the most violent place in the world/// aye right? i also read glasgow is the most violent city last week...

i personaly think its a load of crap.. i feel more safe going to a pub in glasgow than going to one here in france.; at least the people smile and are welcoming...

for those who have been to scotland or live there what do ya think?

ohh and england is ment to be the second most voilent place.

Do you not think you're bound to feel more at ease with what you know and are used to? I've felt uneasy going in to pubs all over the world, but that because I didn't know what I was walking into. Once I'd got in and settled I had no reason to worry.

totally agree with you scott, it's a lot of bollocks. it's not a particularly nice thing to say either, considering the potential damaage a comment like that could have on our tourist industry, one of the lasst industies our country still actually has.

i've had nothing but warm friendly vibes visiting scotland, but there again, i've just ben visiting..there are definitely a section of people there that i wouldn't wanna fuck with, especially in glagow, but the same applies anywhere. as far as i can tell, most of the violence occurs between people who are up for it anyway..

and as for "most violent place in the world" - bollocks. check out iraq, russia, usa, rwanda, burma, zimbabwe etcetcetc..

ive read this article and dont know where the hell they got the evidence and statistics for this! what did they base it on aswell? ...violent people to land ratio or what?? ...we have hardly any gun crimes here either and were before countries like south africa and jamaica and even some of the eastern european countries!? ...what a load of bollox

sure ano what yer saying there, but i have also lived and visited other countrys other than scotland and there also more friendly than here in the bars..

was walking down union st in glasgow on friday night about 11.30 with some mates. we were off to a house party so had carry outs in hand... one of us had a bottle of bucky quite visible in a white carrier bag. next thing i know i turn round to see some middle aged junky bitch in a track suit trying to rip the bag open and steal it from my mates bag as he was walking (plus he's nearly 7 foot tall). fucking mental. didn't seem to bother anyone of us though...

I know it!... Scotland is a shit hole. Glasgow is a horrible place that has this underlying tension between people all the time. Even without the "most violent" status (which i think has some truth) We have the only declining population in Europe, Shit health caused by our shit diet, neds and junkies everywhere. i felt safer when i was in London than i do in Glasgow.

Because this was in The Sun on a day when they were a bit short of real news, they always print ridiculous stories like this when news is a bit thin on the ground... along with "what countries in the world like the most nookie" and "DAVID Blunkett has spoken about friendship with blonde half his age"..
