Playing recycle files in Cubase SX on PC

Anybody know of any sample players for PC Cubase that can load recycle patches? Something like Halion I guess, doesn't necesarily need to be a beast like Gigasampler.. but then if it could also play back EXSII (Logic) patches that would be good too...

I take it a copy of Reason is out of the question ?

You could try the version of Reason Adapted you got with ProTools. I think that version still supports ReWire and I'm sure Cubase SX support ReWire.

Actually it's not for me, it's for Laszlo. So Pro Tools isn't an option, Rewiring to Reason on Laz's computer was always a pig.. looking for something simpler.

Battery eh.. I'll check it out.. he might even have that installed already..

Ah yes.. Battery 2 supports Rex I and II files. perfect.

Looks good and supports REX format as well.

can't you load them directly into the sequencer - just do 'import audio'? I remember it being pretty clunky, but it just about worked.

Yeah it does work but we need to be able to re-sequence by midi control.

ReWire works rock solid for me Steev... Reason gets massively more useful when you can route multiple audio tracks out of it through external plugins etc. I've got to be in London some weekend in July... I can take CDs of stuff and pop round and fiddle with Laz's bits mebbe.

Or is he all sorted with Battery?

The thing is we always end up maxing out cpu in Cubase anyway so having to use rewire then end up bouncing down cos that is overloading the cpu too is just more hassle than using Battery (which he has now)
