sleep, ultra violet!

how do you go to sleep?

do you listen to music?
do you need your childhood teddybear?
dwhat do you need to wear?
do you say your prayers?

I always listen to music.
usually dub style downtempo techno.
I usually sleep naked or wear soccer warm up pants if it is too cold.
I don't ever say my prayers.

man, it is almost 5am. I am drunk,
good night!!

I used to listen to two or three radios tuned to different speech channels and do mental arithmetic in my head like trying to work out the cubes and fourth powers of every number from one to one hundred in my head, but mostly I just lie down and go to sleep now.

same here. i mostly wear a pair of boxers in bed

as for getting to sleep, my usual tactic is to stay awake until i go all spazzy and start hearing things, then toss and turn in bed for 2 hours silently cursing and trying to switch my brain off

i wouldn't recommend it, though. it doesn't do me a lot of good

I had those audio hallucinations the other night (morning) whilst trying to sleep, I usually quite enjoy them execpt this time they were quite sinister and I actually thought I was schizophrenic and nearly had a panic attack, so I didn't get to sleep for another 2 hours or so.

I used to need either the tv or radio (turned down really low) to help me drift off to sleep... sounds stupid, but I used to have real issues with drifting off to sleep alone, in the dark.

Only sometimes do I have trouble sleeping, usually from stress. Then I count my breaths in a loop to ten, incrementing on each exhale and starting again from one if I get distracted.

I sleep best if I'm cold so I often open the window a while and then I can hear the sea which works well. The birds help me sleep in the mornings.

reading, reading, reading. even if I'm two sheets to the wind or exhausted. or high as a kite.

or if I'm lucky enough to be with someone else - kissing, talking and fooling around, probably the only thing that would top reading.

Kinell, when I've done a Sunday DJ set, 8 hours solid playing music from every genre possible bar Black Metal, sometimes I start getting a musical toolkit in my head as I go to sleep... it's like I'm Sun Ra conducting the Arkestra, but I've got every techno and electroacoustic and hip hop and disco and acid folk element available to throw into my cosmic jazz slop. If I could record some of those little preludes to a dream I'd be laughing.

I used to be able to do that as a child, usually taking steady sounds like the sound of the wind and turning it into any music I wanted to hear. cool. I have to do a lot of mind altering drugs to achieve that effect nowdays.

I used to get that after being at a free party when I used to smoke dope, it's very rare that I get it now. I used to be able to make some totally mind blowing tracks in my head without even thinking about it.

Well I'm about to go to sleep and after drinking steadily throughout the evening I should drop off quite quickly! Alcohol is a great tranquilizer.

aye, it is. but I don't really sleep after hard drinking. I really just pass out.
so when I do wake up I do not feel that rested. granted I am hungover, but still, I just don't feel like I really slept at all.

weed on the hand...

i don't go to sleep naked, i usually go to sleep wearing a pair of ill fitting pants, so that when i wake up in the morning, my morning glory is in its full resplendent glory, poking through the bit u r supposed to piss therough on your pants.

I just find sleeping naked so much more comfortable.
plus, I am too sexy for my pajamas!

Likewise - it's only recently (e.g. this year) that I've been able to hack going to sleep with the lights off when on my own. Luckily most nights I get quickly smothered to sleep by the cats, preparing for their never-less-than-thrilling assault at 4am when they decide it's time to get up.

I get the same exact same thing...but sometimes you can't make it stop and you wake up the next day with a grinding headache.

And it is often very colourful free Sun Ra style space music with classical strings and old F.S.O.L. style collages. It's the music of the sphere's definitely. A bit of tinnitus helps too

We tried sleeping once with my Nord running four patches.. a really nice rain one and a nice thunder one that I modified from off the NM list.. a nice sort of windchimey thing that fades in and out that I modified from one mdk made.. and my own seaside sounds patch.

it lulled my gf to sleep.. but I stayed awake for hours listening to the envelopes on the wave sound and working out how to simulate the sound of the wave going out a bit better.. i wanted more gurgling pebbles.

cats - they have a wonderful way of waking you up, don't they? another odd one: sleeping with the bedroom door open is something I can't do, unless there is someone in the room with me... I'm not really sure why that is (probably still expecting the boogie-man to attack me or something )

Generally I go to bed about 1am, think about a million things, then I look at the clock and it's 5am. After 4 years of sharing a bed with my girlfriend i've finally got to the point where I sleep better if she is there though. Empty bed tonight tho.

I'm opposite to that - I need all lights off, doors shut, no light spilling in from the windows - complete darkness, or I won't get any shuteye. I envy people who manage to sleep on sofas and sitting up and stuff. I need a bed, preferably my own. Never been great at sleeping if someone else is in it too, but I gladly suffer the inconvenience.

Hehe, yeah, my brother is the total opposite to me - as long as all the lights are out and the door's shut, he'll go straight off to sleep. We had some cracking rows when sharing a bedroom as nippers.
