Improbable, but nonetheless...
Improbable mix - Anti Pop Consortium/Ian Dury/Howie B/jamaican ska/classic rave/David Bowie/punk/Cure/drum and bass kitchen sink stylee...
Here's a chilled out(ish) set I did under my Sola Perplexus guise in the backroom at UTIvsReact (Edinburgh) back in August 2003. I did a similar set on the Fire Engine sound system at last year’s Palgowan festival too, so it may bring back some memories from that escapade. For the technically bothered, its not really a live set like I normally do, though the fist and last tracks are my own productions. It was done in Ableton though, by sampling bits of other folks' music together and over themselves to make mixes that are not normally possible on a set of decks without chipmonking tunes. Me hope you like… Size:58.5Mb Tracklisting: Double Helix – Double Helix Reasons To Be Cheerful - Ian Dury and the Blockheads Laundry - Anti Pop Consortium Hit Me With Your Rhythm Stick - Ian Dury and the Blockheads Nude Paper - Anti Pop Consortium Who's Got The Bacon? – Howie B Dadamnphreaknoizphunk (extract) – Hardfloor Sex And Drugs And Rock And Roll (extract) - Ian Dury and the Blockheads Return To Patagonia - Lemon Jelly The Rude Boy - Duke Reid’s Group Something Good - Utah Saints Way In My Brain - SL2 Let’s Dance (extract) - David Bowie The Bouncer - Kicks Like A Mule Fire (Sunrise Version) - The Prodigy On A Ragga Tip - SL2 Peaches - The Stranglers Out Of Space - The Prodigy Close To Me - The Cure Homage To Patagonia - Lemon Jelly Blue Flowers - Dr Octagon (Sola Perplexus remix) |
