better than their recent stuff, not as good as their old stuff

mind you, it's recently occurred to me that when i think of their old stuff, i'm basically thinking of dig your own hole. i thought there were some rockers on planet dust, but overall it never really moved me. so maybe i'm not really a chems lover after all, just a big fan of dig

Chemical Brothers used to rock it live - havnt seen them for a while. Their light shows were real mind bending stuff - done by some guys called Vegetable Vision if i remember correctly

Chemical Beats blew up everytime!!

ewwwww.chemical brothers new tune is grim. the sounds are weak, and the asian-vibe has been done to death, a million times better. listen to 'big pimpin' by Jay-Z

The only pro-chemical thing I can say is when I saw them play live years ago, when they were still the dust brothers I think, partway through one of their songs they had very large animated flames projected onto the stage and loads of tripping kids started freaking out. That made me laugh.

Why? Cos they're a bag of bland. Chemical Beats was pretty much the only good track they've ever made.

That's the EP with Chemical Beats as the lead track.

I dunno, there's something blokey and overly 'sceney' about them which rings hollow for me. In interviews they always go on and on and on about being true to the underground etc as if that's what they were doing by playing Beatles tunes to a bunch of old music industry lags in a pub in central London.

Their new album sounds just as you would expect: polished and pumping but totally out of touch with anything new and interesting. They haven't got any prettier over the years either.

Yeah the first interview I ever read, before I'd heard their music.. they were going on about Basic Channel... which I'd just discovered and was rocking my world, imagine my dissapointment when I heard their records...

They know how to write a catchy tune, I'll give them that.. catchy like a rusty nail.

nah. as far as dancey dance music goes - you know, like club music - the chemicals at their best have definitely pushed the envelope. i certainly wouldn't go lumping them in with dirty vegas or anything, anyway

lot of yers: you can't deny private psychedelic reel. come on, now

They played in sydney last night, but the john spencer blues explosion were on at the same time. I chose to see john spencer, he rocked! le tigre, electrocute and atmosphere were also great at the big day out festival in sydney.
