djs help me out

i have a gig in a few weeks
it's a formal/ball for college students type thing, and they want me to bring some slow dance and country songs, just to cater to a wider variety of crowds. (i'm gonna bring mostly house/pop) but i have absolutely NO IDEA what to bring. can someone tell me a few slow dance and country dance classics, if possible ones that i can mix fairly well into a set? don't worry about availability, i'm doing this on cds so i can just get stuff off of p2p (i'm not buying any vinyl of phil collins, thanks) fuck, i don't even know how i'm gonna pull this off. how do you mix slow dance into a house set? HELLLPPPP ;o;

Yeah Glenn Campbell - Wichita Lineman

You can save that for the peak of your 'slow and melancholy' section.

man mixing out of house into slow songs is easy. i have always hated perfect unchanging tempo dj's they suck. find a breakdown in the house track, and swap knobs with the upcoming slow tracks and wadda! by the time your break down is over your mood has changed. barfitsafa dj's rock

Dj'ing for an unsympathetic crowd isn't rocket science. you only need four or five "trigger songs" that will keep the ruminants happy- a bit of madonna, some chic- you can get in out of this to pretty much much any decent record you like via three degrees of nile rogers/jellybean benitez....
of course bootlegs make it even easier if you can bear such a low, low tactic. i think i've got a britney/little computer people bootleg somewhere from days of yore.

and if your really desperate, play Blue Monday

Up the standard and just play rare groove. check out a CD of 100% dynamite and hit soulseek then add in a few of That's What I Call Music 50. Sorted.
