Hello, hello.

I can't get that fucking U2 song out of my head. I really don't like it, the first time I heard it I was shocked by just how formulaic it is. BUT I CAN'T GET IT OUT OF MY HEAD. I find myself singing the guitar riff in the shower, I find myself doing a bono falsetto backing vocal in the kitchen.

It's clearly evil, this song doesn't just rely on it's repetitive hooks or incredibly ubiquitous marketing.. it must actually be harnessing some kind of evil power. If you've read Bill Drummonds 'Bad Wisdom' or Wilsons "Illuminatus!" you'll know what I mean.

U2 have harnessed the power of the undead nazi army that live at the bottom of the Bavarian lake, this track has been focus tested at Guantanamo, this music contains the anti-chord.

It's days like these when I can understand where Charles Manson, Mark Chapman and the fellar who shot the fellar who used to be in Pantera came from.

Fucking right it is. It's not dum-diddy-dum pop trash that knows it's pop trash, it's precision tooled marketing weapon and it's DOUBLE EVIL.

Steev / Decadnids - I know this sounds horrible, but I promise you it works in most 'internal jukebox getting stuck' situations... Sing 'Too Many Broken Hearts' by Jason Donovan to yourself... "give me one good reason to leave me, I'll give you ten good reasons to sta-ay" etc... don't know why it works but it does, and it's such a non-song itself that it self-destructs after it's done the job of cleaning your brain read-heads or whatever it does. Jah bless, Pete Waterman.

if you listen to whigfield's 'saturday night', you can hear a duck quacking all the way through the track...

another trick to cure melody stuck in head syndrome is to listen to just about anything by the beatles. of course, that's not much good if you hate the beatles

I think that was a joke too - the norland jc2x00 descrambler's milk explosion setting doesn't go up to 'conquer', just 'pillage'.

It's horendous the ammount of shite music that gets played in ads at christmas. I can't get the 'Currys' jingle out of my head yet i can easilly filter out most of the 'best of' compilations and Cullum-alikes infecting the airwaves. As for U2 I think we've been down this route before on a thread about Bono. They're evil and must be destroyed!

That is pure evil, even though I don't own a TV and rarely watch anyone elses it has still manage to plant itself firmly in my brain along with a really annoying image of Linda Barker grinning that makes me want to smash her face in with a brick.

who is Linda Barker?

I mean, I know she's that gal on the curry's advert, who doesn't actually seem to do much but be in the side of the picture, but who is she?

i don't know who's side to take in the whole band aid 20 upset. justin hawkins claims he did the better take of that "tonight thank god it's them" line but then bono waded in insisting his take made the final mix because he sung it first time round, while bono reckons he didn't even want to sing the line because he sung it first time round and "whispered it" or something in the hope it wouldn't be used (whispered! he sounds like he recorded it in a loincloth on top of a mountain, beating his fucking chest), and that the whole affair is just hawkins doing his comedy monsters of rock prima donna thing

ooh, hawkins or bono? vim fuego or david koresh? never have i so badly wanted to see an argument end in bloodshed

She is one of the makeover "experts" along with that Lawrence Lewlyn Bowen on changing rooms. Reason enough to despise the woman.

Her husband was the exec at Endemol who started the 'Changing Rooms' show... nice She endorses so much shite now. I saw a life-size cut out of her in a chemists in Hackney endorsing hair dye.... and the colour 'Linda Barker Blonde'
