Oh I wish I'd seen it, I was out at a gig tho... Faking It is the one reality programme I really like, it frequently causes tears in the Knid house.
On a tangent, I was so, so happy to see that BBC2's fantastic 'Who Do You Think You Are' (the one where celebrities trace their family history) beat the new series of Wife Swap by 1 million viewers on the first episode. Go on Bill Oddie, and in your fucking face Heat magazine and everything you stand for. |

i liked the bit where they asked him(crazy legs etc) what his influences were, and he just said ..... oldschool!

yeah, that one was the best "faking it" so far i reckon.
i was impressed by how much that guy's mentality changed by the end of the program.. they really sorted him out ....plus, he looked MUCH cuter in those street outfits and without that ridiculous hairstyle he had in the beginning. true improvement that was!! |

he was a nice looking chap for sure, really cute with his shaved head. aww.
dont think it was the best though, there were two others - the one with the gay bloke who became a bouncer, and the cellist turned DJ, were both great. |

definately the best ones. the bit in that first one when the bouncers were incredulous that said cambridge boy thought that they wouldn't accept his coming out was a beautiful moment.

that one with the cellist girl was wicked but thinking about it later on i was quite disturbed, especially because by the end of the program she said how impressed she was by the lifestyle of celebrity djs and that she thought she was in the wrong scene!! i mean why turn such a pure and lovely little creature into an ibiza hardhouse slut? why?? |

yeah , totally loved this one last night. was cool to see him getting his look down and looking all the better for it. it is always fab when the fakers are left with a genuine lasting love for what they are doing. defo one of the best imo. the sort of thing that tv should be about.

true, i know what you mean. but one of the reasons i liked her is that she seemed to choose her own style of music to play which i think was soulful house. she wasnt playing whatever anne savage and lottie play. not sure what that is btw. i think it works best when the mentors and the faker manage to influence each other and open each other's minds. there was a good one with a punk rocker becoming a violinist where he played punk to the kids in the family who;d only ever listened to classical music before and everyone loved it. |

i used to really like this programme but it seems really forced these days. As thomas said... posh boy writers are hardly rare.
The best one was the guy from the Navy becoming a drag queen. The format didn't seem over-egged because the people in the situation we're really learning new things about themselves. |

loads of people in brighton dress in suits like that all the time. i like it but the whole suit thing can get a bit tedious. as can the hoody graf look.

but as phil pointed out yesterday- nothing quite touches that suit jacket with t shirt look. pref with a tony and guy haircut and customised jeans with pointed shoes. total brighton. i'm sure there's probably a picture of me looking like that oonce upon a time though.

yep, i forgot how impressed i was by her choice of tunes. for a person who had never listened to dance music before, what she played was top notch! even the judges were having it. |

this one was shown in scotland about 2 months ago. loved it but cos i used to paint i found alot of it so cringeworthy and nailbiting for him ...my heart propery went out to him.... especially in bits like that graf battle etc
some of it i felt was kinda daft though cos graff is such an elite culture, and that crew (they were good no doubt) and the programme were just turning him into a stereotypical writer, turning him london etc, i know writers with posh accents and weird clothes but i guess it was all for the test at the end to make him more "genuine" .... also writers all over the world are tryin to get up and get fame/respect... this boy goes on a FAKING it tv prog and gets props from crazy legs hahaa i bet some writers were fuming.. |

More of an "urban artist" than a graff artist. Entertaining all the same
