Intelligent Music

What is intelligence? The capacity to acquire and apply knowledge, especially toward a purposeful goal?
Every action we make requires a certain level of intelligence, but how do we measure the intelligence of songs? Do we make shallow judgments on the structure, the perceived value in comparison to fellow songs, or do we simply make an instinctive judgment based on our 'gut reaction'. Many people talk about 'vibes' and it is this 'mystical' notion that we humans have an innate ability to judge something based on a '6th sense' that fills me with deep curiosity tempered only by the fact that we will never know the truth.

I would love to know what my fellow humans felt on this subject. Please excuse my somewhat stilted writing; I am originally German and therefore lacking in the refinements of English grammar.

i suppose intelligent as in clever/original way of composing (the chinstroking factor?), pretty hard to measure this though.

and really why should this be important at all? do you value music by its iq? i gotta say i never even thought about that when listening to music. more like either i dig what i'm hearing or i don't. goes pretty well with me.
